Hi Deeg37 :) GOS gadgets IS an operating system - G (O)perating (S)ystem.
It is based on Ubuntu Linux. I haven't installed GOS on a machine with an operating system, but I would imagine when you try to, it will ask if you want to use the entire disk or whether you want to partition the disk to have two operating systems on the one disk. These days this is quite easy to set up on a machine - Linux is very smart that way :) You can always 'back out' (prior to formatting the disk) if you get nervous. If you want only GOS then merely allow the installation to use the whole disk. Me, I used dual-booting (as it's known) for about 6-12 months before going completely Linux about 4 years ago. Check out the Ubuntu forums for dual-booting information, as GOS is really a lot of GLOSS :))) on top of Ubuntu...and very nice gloss too!
