That there isn't a message saying that the issue is resolved in a thread doesn't say the issue wasn't resolved. IMHO almost always the problem lies in a bad CD, and there are many questions like that that do report the issue was solved by making sure you have enough RAM and that your CD is burned at low speed with an undamaged .ISO file, using "burn as image" software.
Safe graphics mode is a boot option, you can turn it on from the boot menu by pressing a function key, I think its F4, navigate the menu's you get then to a "safe graphics mode option".
