Well I don't know if I can give a definitive answer, but I suspect that
the card is locked into the Windows operating system.

However, my wife uses a TP-Link wi-fi dongle in her Dell Inspiron 8600
and it *does* work for her, so that's what I'd suggest.  One things
certain - its not a fault with gOS.
