Hi Michael, thanks for writing in instead of silently writing off our products.
We don't want to make you choose at all. Or, rather, we want to make you choose our products, of course. :) You don't explicitly say what reaction you mean, but I'm aware that many people think Mozilla has fired Brendan Eich as the CEO, or forced his resignation. Reading the reporting on the last two weeks' events, I fully understand why people think that. The thing is: it's not true. Brendan chose to resign after experiencing what must have been the ten most harrowing days of his life, and of the lifes of all members of his family. I think for most people (certainly including me) the hateful messages and threats he must've received would have been reason alone. For Brendan, I can actually imagine that that wouldn't have been the case. But now add the fact that the mission and organisation that is his life's work was under constant, harsh attack and under a very real threat to be damaged permantently. Isn't it believable that he really did decide that stepping down was the best answer? If you can spare the time, there are many posts explaning the situation.
