Firstly, you may be interested to know that Brendan stepped down as CEO after 11 days in this position, and resigned from Mozilla. You may find a detailed chronology here: https://blog.mozilla.org/blog/2014/04/05/faq-on-ceo-resignation/ Let me add a few facts, though. Brendan is one of the co-founders of Mozilla. To the best of my knowledge, in 16 years, nobody inside Mozilla has ever accused him of anti-gay behavior. Whichever political opinions he may have had were kept entirely outside of Mozilla. It was therefore considered that his political opinions, whichever they were, were part of his private life and should have no implication on his ability to act as CEO. Obviously, not everybody on the web agreed.
