Wish you a lovely day. I’m now writing to you to tell you something that make me puzzled. As I know, Firefox is a free browser which offers users independent web suffering. It allows users to install apps they want into it for better experience. Meanwhile it provide users with the right to refuse something that they don’t want. That’s a good browser for me and every user who prefers freedom. However, it doesn’t work morally in China. I have downloaded two versions of Firefox, one from http://www.firefox.com.cn/ (I think it’s the official website of Firefox in China, am I right?) and another from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/. I compare one with anther and find some different between them. The installation package from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/ is a full-installer and anther from http://www.firefox.com.cn/ is just a downloader. I have to think it a good way to ensure that only we Chinese will get the version witch is not so friendly. There are lots of things bundled in it like Alipay itaobao and so on. I can only refuse some of them, not all of them. That is to say, it take something with it without the users’ permission. What is worse, it does these things by stealth. And when I changed the search engine into Bing or others, it tries a lot to mislead me to change it back to Baidu. For examples, when the attachment is not available, it provide a page with advertisement so as to mislead me to choose Baidu to be my search engine (You can see it in the PDF). I don’t think it right for me to stop a free browser from earning money with advertisement. But I do think it good for you to tell me that there are advertisements in it before I install it so that I can choose another browser instead if I don’t like advertisements. My English is so poor that I can’t describe it clearly, so I have uploaded 3 PDFs and the installer downloaded from http://www.firefox.com.cn/ in the attachment to show the details about the things I have told you above. Among them the “compare.pdf” shows the most important differences between the two versions. All tests are made in the Sandboxie, so one version won’t influence another. May Firefox a better brower.
