with us first. In the case of BlueGriffon, the editor is OSS and free

Have you signed a contract with Mozilla in which you made sure Mozilla could not make moves that would threaten your business? (I assume you haven't as I assume Mozilla would not sign such a contract, maybe I'm wrong, but you would probably be enforcing the contract instead of coming here to discuss) Has Mozilla made general commitments about XUL or other Mozilla-specific technologies suggesting it was a reasonable business decision for you ro rely so profoundly on Mozilla's decisions? (I don't believe they have)

My point of view is obviously subjective, but from where I stand, it looks like it's been many years that Mozilla has chosen to not focus on embedability. Node has chosen to use V8, MongoDB moved away from SpiderMonkey to use V8, lots of embedded browsers are WebKit or Blink-based (not Gecko-based). To the point where I believe I've read somewhere Servo may try to have the necessary APIs/ABIs to be a drop-in replacement for Webkit for embedders. And Node-webkit and Electron, etc.
I'm sensing a trend here and it does not contain a lot of XUL.

As a consequence, it looks like a very dangerous business decision to depend on Mozilla's embeddability and support for some proprietary technologies. For sure I would not have made it, but we may come from a different perspective on this.

It may have been the choice you've made, but you should consider it may be a bad choice and you should consider shifting your own strategy instead of expecting/hoping Mozilla will change theirs.
It may result in much less pain on your side.
