The list of Core modules is long and many are listed as owned by folks no longer involved in the project. Others have only temporary owners. In discussion with the TLMC and other folks I've put together a list of changes to address this. In some cases we've found willing owners for the code, in others the code is either gone or is small and can just be owned by other modules.
This is a long list but I don't think any of the proposals are controversial so I suggest that if there are no concerns after a week we consider these changes as accepted and update the Wiki to match. Please review this list and let me know if you have alternate suggestions or if I have made mistakes anywhere: Core :: Browser WebAPI New owner: Olli Pettay Core :: Content HTTP Headers Delete module, ownership of these headers should move to the module with the code that sets them (e.g., DOM, Necko). Core :: C++/Rust usage, tools, and style Revert owner back to Ehsan Akhgari Core :: Embedding Delete module and the currently unused embedding directory in mozilla-central Core :: Find As You Type Delete module (the code is now owned by Toolkit) Core :: Geolocation Delete module (Making the existing module owned by the DOM module as with other web APIs) Core :: Global Key Bindings New owner: Masayuki Nakano Core :: HAL New owner: Gabriele Svelto Core :: JavaScript Debugger Backend Delete module (The code was deleted some time ago) Core :: libjar New owner: Aaron Klotz Core :: PDF New owner: Brendan Dahl Core :: Private Browsing Revert owner back to Ehsan Akhgari Core :: Push Notifications New owner: Lina Cambridge Core :: PyXPCOM Delete module (The code was deleted some time ago) Core :: RDF Delete module (The code has been deleted) Core :: Static analysis & rewriting for C++ Revert owner back to Ehsan Akhgari Core :: Tamarin Delete module (The code was deleted some time ago) Core :: JS Marionette Delete module (The code was deleted some time ago) Core :: Update Service Delete module (This module was for update server code which is no longer in the tree and now owned elsewhere) Core :: Widget - Headless New module, owner: Brendan Dahl Core :: XPApps Plan to move what is left of this code elsewhere and delete the module Core :: XPInstall Delete module (The code was deleted some time ago) Core :: XPToolkit Delete module (dom/xul would become owned by DOM and layout/xul become owned by Layout) _______________________________________________ governance mailing list governance@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/governance
