Access to babel is now federated (cf.
#93<https://informatics.gpcnetwork.org/trac/Project/ticket/93>). KUMC staff are
no longer the only ones who can grant accounts. The following somewhat
arbitrarily chosen list has representatives from each of the 10 GPC sites:

Verhagen, Laurel A [email protected]

Please use the form to grant babel
accounts<http://babel.gpcnetwork.org/cgi-bin/babelaccess.py/rep_admin> to
people in the GPC community, as discussed in the GPC proposal:
Since the terminology alignment reference i2b2 service has no patient data,
hosting constraints are minimal with respect to HIPAA and Human Subjects
Protection. The main security concerns for this service are to address
potential healthcare system business sensitivities related to patient care
volumes and to not disclose research in-progress. We plan to address these
concerns by limiting access to authorized users in the GPC community ... . As
the GPC expands this service to a wider user community, we will deploy services
to cloud hosting at Amazon and develop an independent federated login system
... (#93<https://informatics.gpcnetwork.org/trac/Project/ticket/93>).

Anyone who visits babel can get to the list of representatives by following
these two links:

  *   "See the password request
form<http://babel.gpcnetwork.org/cgi-bin/babelaccess.py/>."
  * "To get a babel account, contact one of the account
representatives<http://babel.gpcnetwork.org/cgi-bin/babelaccess.py/reps_list>
(e.g. from your site)."

Let me know if you have better ideas about who should be on the list of
representatives.
