I really don't want TGI Friday's or Longhorn. I am up for walking or doing Bertucci's as that's at least somewhat local to Boston. Last time I was there a couple years back we walked a bit and I think the walk led to good discussions both going and coming from dinner,

Unfortunately, the Longwood area is a wasteland for restaurants. To get to any good food you either have to walk about a mile, walk 0.4 miles and take the T or take a cab. It looks like the final tally for dinner guests is pretty big (15-20?) so getting into some restaurants might be tough. I checked the weather and there is currently a 67% chance of a thunderstorm at 6PM on Thursday. Based on that I think walking anywhere is a little dicey. A few options. There is a restaurant in the hotel. If they have separate area for us we can stay there. There is a Bertucci's Pizza down the street (at Children's). I don't know anything about their facility but it's pretty a pretty good pizza chain restaurant. I'm staying at a hotel near Beacon street at the other end of Longwood Ave (0.8 miles) and there are a few Restaurants in that area. Two other areas are to walk down Brookline Avenue to Fenway (same 0.8 miles) or wander up to Mission Hill (St Francis Street) to Huntington Avenue to find places like Mama's Place Greek food. It's a popular place for the LMA employees. TGI Friday is also in the Mission Hill area. If people are willing to take the T into Back Bay there are more options. jm ________________________________ James C McClay, MS, MD, FACEP Associate Professor, Emergency Department Chair, Biomedical Informatics Graduate Program University of Nebraska Medical Center Omaha, NE 68198-1150 [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> ________________________________ From: Campbell, James R Sent: Sunday, July 06, 2014 4:52 PM To: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>; McClay, James C; Russ Waitman Subject: Boston eating extablishments Shawn Murphy recommended a nice looking restaurant for Thursday night but a longish walk and probably pricy Within 15 minutes walk of our hotel and meeting place there is a TGI Friday and Longhorn steakhouse both low-mid price range. Nothing else as close. I think convenience and price trump other considerations unless anyone has a favorite restaurant and they want to make the reservation for us for Thursday.
