Hi everyone,

I attempted to get this on this week's call agenda but failed to submit this
before the deadline yesterday - lesson learned :).

We are working on getting a precise handle on the technical and administrative
requirements for the ADAPTABLE cohort query, as it impacts our engineering
iteration and cycle planning in the near term. After the Coordinating Center
visit it was unclear to me how we (the GPC) are planning on coordinating that
task. What I heard from the CC was twofold (let me know if this is not how
others understood it):

1. We will not be using the CDM/PopMedNet to distribute queries

a. Reasoning: The infrastructure is not due until the end of Phase I,
which is after the targeted date for recruiting patients to ADAPTABLE.

2. Each CDRN (or site, not sure) is responsible for determining their
federated approach to distributing/aligning that query.

First off, let me know if that is not the same understanding as this group has.

Second, my question is: how are we planning to administer that query as a
group? It sounded like the CC is largely leaving that decision up to CDRNs, so
there are a few ways I see that we could identify these patients for surveys:

1. Develop a query on Babel using GPC-aligned terms, and all sites must
run that query using the Port-Query plugin

2. Develop a query on Babel using KUMC (or any non-GPC aligned terms),
and all sites must mimic that query manually in their own environments

a. I have already done this with MU's i2b2 using Russ' draft query on
Babel, which uses KUMC local terms from what I can tell

3. Each site develops an i2b2 query on their own using local terms, based
on the computable phenotype from PCORnet

I'd imagine that Option #1 is what we are targeting, but I'd like to get a
decision from the group in the next few weeks so that we can start proactively
planning our high-priority enhancements on the Cerner side, should such a need
arise.

Let me know your thoughts, or if I should log a Trac ticket for this
decision/discussion.

Thanks!
