No, I'm not aware of any other problem reports with long runtimes.

Perhaps you could give some details? Attach an XML version of your query and/or 
a print-query version of your query? How long is excessive? 20 minutes? 2 days? 
What is a typical runtime? What runtime do you get if you chop the query 
roughly in half?
