I started looking into it, but it was a little hard to tell what was going on.
I would have thought same MRN would imply same data of birth, but there were plenty of exceptions to that. So one complication is: how do I figure out which records refer to the same patient? Then the religions are not spelled the same way, and IDX has just one race where epic can record several, and so on. Perhaps I could have done a more simple analysis; perhaps the encoding differences were just a distraction. Anyway... I'll leave it in the someday pile, for now. -- Dan ________________________________ From: Russ Waitman Sent: Thursday, April 14, 2016 11:41 AM To: Dan Connolly Cc: Tamara McMahon; Li Huang; <[email protected]> Subject: Re: integrate IDX demographics: wontfix? Hi Dan, I’d spot check but that likely makes sense since it shares the same EMPI with Epic here. Can we see if we miss out on any race and ethnicity that’s sitting in IDX tables but didn’t get migrated to Epic? Now that we have a Epic post clinical integration in January, I’d hope it’s fully populated in Epic now. But, we are still doing ambulatory billing in former UKP clinics out of IDX there’s a potential we might be missing some. A check joining tables between the two would tell. EMPI from KUH Epic, primarily. Some cases of patient-reported data from REDCap where we cannot identify a corresponding EMPI record.
