Hi, This question is directed to Dan Connolly, but the result may be of interest to the GPC in general.
I had a question about what we discussed last Friday. Recall that we used a different field in our NAACCR data to identify a patient. I think it was postion 50:57, and the value was NOT an MRN. Field "Patient Id--Hosp" (something like this). We discussed putting this value into the crosswalk in the mrn field. My question, is does the naaccr_prep.py ... work with such a setup, if there are more than one "mrn" pointing to the same StudyId. For example, right now we have 117 consented patients ... for which we have MRN mapping (out of 119). But ... there is something like 131 patient-identifiers in our NAACCR files for those 117 consented patients. My crosswalk would contain perhaps 131 data rows instead of the previous 117, yet still with data for only 117 unique patients. Does that break naaccr_prep? Or will it aggregate the results from the multiple "mrn" values that map to the same study id? NOTE: I am at a conference, and may or may not be able to try this before next week. Thanks!
