Debbie

We have that documented in our procedures on Epic Userweb including the SQL for
vital status load. https://datahandbook.epic.com/Reports/Details/9000400

A snippet from the documentation follows.

PrProcess SSN death record updates (if new information)

This is performed when new SSN death records have been received prior to a new
data refresh.

UNMC receives an ORACLE DMP file with updated SSN death record information. A
procedure is in place at UNMC which transforms the information in that DMP file
into information in the HERONLOADER.SSDM table in the IDWK database. This
table and its structure is known to the ETL procedure and information in the
SSDM table is used in establishing death information in the patient dimension.

The following is the Oracle schema for the HERONLOADER.SSDM table in the IDWK
database:

Subject: CDM Death Table and SSDI

Hi,

How are sites incorporating the SSDI information into the

CDM Death Table?

Of the EHR patients that have a death date and a social security

number, 63% matched exactly to the SSDI information.

There are patients who have erroneous death dates

(Jan 01, 1901), so I'm thinking I'll use the SSDI information

for those death dates.

What other rules/algorithms are people using?
