Dear PCORnet Colleagues, I am reaching out with an update regarding the PCORI Descriptives query (pcori_pmp_wp003). We greatly appreciate your feedback regarding query execution and the run times seen at your DataMarts. This feedback has helped us to identify steps of the program that required longer processing times. Based on our investigation, we plan to revise the query to bypass some of these more time consuming steps with the aim of reducing the overall run time for this query. While no further action is required from your DataMarts at this time, we hope that you might be willing to re-execute the new query package and to help us assess run time improvements using the new approach. We would anticipate distribution of the updated query in the coming weeks. All DataMarts will receive query credit for this query and the query will be cancelled via the query tool. Thank you again for your patience and continued collaboration. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions. We ask that sites DO NOT terminate the package early and let it run to completion. NOTE: The PCORI Table 1 Descriptives query will be distributed on August 14th. Please note that while the query due date is August 29th, we are asking for responses by August 20th to support creation of an interim report. If there are any questions, please reach out ASAP to q...@pcornet.org<mailto:q...@pcornet.org>. Dear PCORnet Colleagues, The Query Fulfillment and Analytics team is pleased to announce the release of the PCORI Table 1 Descriptives Query (pcori_pmp_wp003), using PCORnet Modular Program (PMP), Baseline and Vital table modules. This query was requested by PCORI Steering Committee led by the Table 1/Publication Work Group lead, Chris Forrest, to describe the network patient composition, utilization, medical encounters (diagnosis, prescribing, labs), comorbidities, anthropometrics, and health behaviors. To help inform future work, the requester would like DataMarts to complete the attached data table (PMP Descriptives_Supplemental Table.docx) and return with their query response via the QueryTool. Description of Query Request: Run 1 of this request will count unique patients age 0-66+ with diagnosis, prescribing or LOINC records in the query period (January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2018) for Asthma, Cancer, Dementia, Depression, Epilepsy, Heart Failure, Ischemic Heart Disease, Osteoarthritis, Stroke, Type 2 Diabetes, Antibiotics, Antihypertensives, SSRIs, Corticosteroids, Creatinine lab, Hematocrit lab, HbA1c lab or LDL labs cohorts and will perform descriptive baseline and vitals analytics to further characterize these cohorts. Run 2 of this request will count unique patients age 0-66+ with diagnosis, prescribing or LOINC records in the query period (January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018) for Asthma, Cancer, Dementia, Depression, Epilepsy, Heart Failure, Ischemic Heart Disease, Osteoarthritis, Stroke, Type 2 Diabetes, Antibiotics, Antihypertensives, SSRIs, Corticosteroids, Creatinine lab, Hematocrit lab, HbA1c lab or LDL labs cohorts and will perform descriptive baseline and vitals analytics to further characterize these cohorts. · Counts will be stratified by age group, sex, race, ethnicity. Query will execute against SAS tables (demographic, encounter, diagnosis, prescribing, lab_result_cm and vital) in PCORnet CDM v4.1 format. · Only aggregate output will be produced. · Patients may contribute to more than one of the above cohorts. This query request will consist of 2 runs contained within a single SAS package, and the programs will generate summary output reports to assist in ease of review and to support site governance policies. PCORI Steering Committee and PCORnet Summary Paper Work Group How will the results be used? The requester is interested in reporting numbers from across the network to examine the number of patients with specific conditions, procedures, medications and/or labs to develop a PCORnet population profile for a peer-reviewed paper that describes PCORnet. The description will include details on patient composition, utilization, medical encounters (diagnosis, procedure, prescribing, labs), comorbidities, anthropometrics, and health behaviors. DM-level results will be provided to the requester for this purpose. They acknowledge that they must obtain permission from each partner before providing DM-level counts in an application or publication. PCORnet-level aggregated data can be presented or published on public-facing websites (e.g. PCORnet.org), in a manuscript, and/or used in marketing materials describing these populations in PCORnet. DM response to this query is acknowledgement that data can be aggregated into a PCORnet-level report for public-facing venues. The CC may reuse network aggregate and DM-level data for internal planning and to inform potential funding and research opportunities. For data quality improvement, DM-level results can be posted to a CRN PI-only space on iMeet. Who is eligible to receive this query? All 2.0 CRN & HPRN DMs that have been approved on either Cycle 4 or 5 of Data Curation (full tracker available here<https://protect-us.mimecast.com/s/W01tCDk2Jlu5molyh5yHAq?domain=pcornet.imeetcentral.com>) will receive the queries for the opportunity to respond. What is the query distribution date and response due date? Query will be distributed to all 2.0 CRN & HPRN DMs on August 14, 2019. Responses are due on August 29, 2019. Query distribution The query will be distributed via PopMedNet (PMN). An email notification will be sent to the DataMart Administrator via PMN and any other users with enabled notifications when the queries are distributed.
