Thanks Russ. I'm happy to answer any questions.
This is the last query of the 1st phase of this work (work that began with the
creation of the COVID CDM in early April). This is also our first query since
the end of May. We paused because we wanted to limit the additional queries in
this initial phase and wanted to expand some elements, such as having the
ability to identify mutually exclusive care settings and capture information on
use of some meds (antiplatelet, anticoag, thrombolytics) and thrombotic and
atherosclerotic/hemorrhagic events (generally referred to as coagulopathies).
We are expecting that future queries, which could start soon depending on
timeline, will be funded by CDC. More coming on this soon hopefully.

We were uncertain about how these queries would continue and what PCORI would
eventually fund moving forward. As a result, the recommendation was to pause
ETL development on the additional data elements originally conceptualized
(e.g., inpatient vitals). We were hoping that sites would still be able to
refresh their COVID CDM but understand that some may have paused that as well.

Our goal for this last Phase 1 query would be to provide as up to date data as
possible on the status of COVID in PCORnet. This will help in planning for the
CDC work, could lead to another publication, and will help in further
discussions with groups interested in PCORnet data, such as the FDA. If sites
have paused their COVID CDM refreshes, we'd love it if they could refresh and
run the query, but we understand that might not be possible. We'd still
appreciate sites running the query even if they can't refresh.

Happy to address anything further, either via email or on a call, if needed.
Jason

        External Email - Use Caution

I am on the call. This July 21st is the last of the previously approved
queries for the initial scope of work.

Dr. Jason Block leads the analysis and can answer additional questions but
notes:

  * If you stopped refreshing, it would still be great for you to still run
query on the data as it has enhanced analysis

Russ,

Do you plan to attend today's PCORnet steering committee meeting? In gpc-dev,
Philip Reeder asked about a 1228 covid query that just came in (due July 21).
What’s expected, given the May 28 “pause additional ETL development”?

Steffani is going to ask DRNOC, but if you can get info from the steering
committee, that would help too.
