Hello GPC Colleagues and Patient Engagement Officers:
This is an update associated with a training/education offering at UW Madison, the Engaging Patients & Other Stakeholders in Translational Research: Tools and Best Practices for Research Teams. This course is occurring on Thursday and Friday, June 1-2, 2017. The course registration cost is $150 per research team. There is a registration site here<Hello%20GPC%20Colleagues%20and%20Patient%20Engagement%20Officers:> that includes an initial agenda and also advises on lodging, if needed. Lodging is not included as part of registration. Since we last communicated, I can highlight the following: * the course will not be available to participate in online (no participation from a distance) * the course has already registered about 35 attendees ranging from faculty researchers and scientists to research staff to student scholars to CTSA staff * the primary course focus remains operationalizing stakeholder engagement for research * the course is geared toward building capacity of academic partners, but non-academic stakeholders are welcome (patient advocates, etc) * individuals interested in stakeholder engagement for clinical trials are welcome, but the course will not focus explicitly on engagement in clinical trials I hope you will consider your GPC site team for attendance but also please disseminate this opportunity broadly thru your institutional and professional networks, to make research teams far and wide aware of this learning opportunity ~ Questions?: My colleague, Kate Judge, cc:d above, is at your service!
