I've done one live install, which I thought went rather well, but the site couldn't deal with a couple of issues and instructed me to rollback. I had to copy and paste two days of notes between the systems as there is no backwards conversion - you can export to XML but the import into MD2 doesn't work.

I've done one preliminary install and after examining the data the doctor decided not to go ahead with the upgrade at this time, similar errors to the first one.

I did an install on my test machine in the workshop, using a variety of data files, and can't reproduce the kind of data errors we got on these two.

It's certainly better (could it be worse after so long?), and a new site would be better off on MD3 compared to MD2.

I know JVD and PS have both converted and are very happy (are you boys on this list?).

I have major problems with MSSQL databases and as you know have been recommending Genie and Totalcare for many years. I'm currently telling my clients that if they have to suffer the pain of conversion why not convert to a better supported / cross platform / no advertising system, but usually their eyes glaze over like they do when I talk about Telstra.....

cheers,
Peter.

Hi all,

Has anyone had any good experiences with MDW3 yet ?

All I keep hearing is gloom and doom.

And my clients keep wanting to know when they can switch.

Ok give me the bad experiences too.
