A suggestion for a little anarchic project.
Let each of us using different software (MD2, MD3, BestPractice, Genie,
Locum, etc etc ), create a dummy patient, do a dummy EPC report and
export the patient record in the proprietary XML, and send it to a
clever team to decide on a standard for the EPC part of it..
( Perhaps David Guest and Horst could be the clever team?)
This is exactly the way in which the PIT format got established in 1993.
The IT guys at Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology, and Queensland Medical
Laboratory just sat down and decided on it. There were a few
modifications from GP's ( including moi - ahem ) and the standard got
into use by these two labs. Then everyone else just followed suit.
