I've spent a lot of time playing with phones in the last year or so. I'm sure 
if I ask "How does that phone sound now?" one more time my wife will kill me :)

Not sure how many people might have found this already, but a very good book on 
Asterisk from O'rielly publishing was released under a creative common license 
recently. Free download at http://tinyurl.com/73wru

I have only skimmed it, but it looks to have been written in recent times and 
contains a lot of useful info.
