What version of e-smith and jabber are you using, Jim. Which rpms are
you trying?

I had jabber working on e-smith 5.5 and ?6.0
(http://medesmith.mine.nu/jabber.html) but have not run it for a while
at home. I have a Mitel supported jabber server at work. Development
work is still ongoing for 7.0 and jabber2. The easiest solution in the
short term would be running a debian or CentOS box.

If you have particular questions get back to me later today on jabber (
:-) at ozdocit.org.
