Thankyou Horst for your reply and offer,

I shall purchase a blackdog and play myself - although not familiar with
Linux I like a challenge and rarely need to think hard for an excuse to
purchase a new techno toy !

Once I have one, I might "hire" Peter's expertise to help set it up.

We use terminal services for remote access from 7 or our 8 sets of rooms
and we have a managed high speed VPN for that. Remote access is via a
Windows VPN using TS or via a Cisco radius box for Macs. It sounds like
hte blackdog may be the way for casual access from any computer.

Thanks again for your comprehensive advice

Duncan Guy

In this case, blackdog would seem ideal, with an auto-executing script to connect the VPN (you can't do this with the Windows VPN client) and launch a terminal session.

Yes, would work. I think rdesktop is already running on the blackdog too anyway

Duncan, if you just want to try it out, give me your mail address and I'll borrow you a blackdog device preconfigured as rdesktop (Windows TS) client
