At least with my patients, it seems very acceptable for me to say "I don't
know", but then they expect to be referred to somebody who knows, or to come
back after a few days when I might know after researching the matter

When I did my very first locum in Oz I got blank stares when I asked where the
practice kept their textbooks, after noticing in shock and horror that they
had no computers = no online resources. I felt lost.

Never could understand how any doctor could delude himself to "know it all"
and not depend on constantly accessing up-to-date knowledge resources
