Further Q: How do you make your network really reliable and secure?
A: don't install untrusted software within

Reality: nobody gets to install any third party software on my network any
more unless I have inspected it. If I can't have a look at the source code
(doesn't mean that I really do inspect all code, I just want to be able in
case I have a suspicion) - it doesn't go on my network.

Three exceptions still: an out-of-date Pracsoft, Win4Lin Terminal Server, and
Medibase client. We are very close now to get rid of all three of them, and
then we have reached software Nirvana - I certainly won't let any Path
provider soil this nilly-willy, now that I am that close to proving that it
is doable.

One of the main reasons why I like Python scripts: nobody can hide the source
code from me, the code is very easy to read even without any comments, and
there is usually very little code only.
