Thanks for saying that, as it echoes my original concern in raising this issue. It's not about what we 'could' use, it's about what we 'should' use.

My feelings are that both in my Division role and as a private support provider we should have agreed standards for this activity, as they seem to be absent from the existing standards relating to GP computing.

Plus a deep unease about the use of an out-to-date version of a freeware application for the purpose.
