The Feds are putting the wind up us again (i.v.).

I would like to keep a copy of their checklist defence
(http://www.health.gov.au/internet/wcms/publishing.nsf/Content/648DE4B114E3370BCA257019007DB5C3/$File/CDM%20items%20-%20Checklist%20GPMPs%20and%20TCAs.pdf)
in MD but annoyingly this is only in pdf format. (Everything else is in
RT and PDF on
http://www.health.gov.au/internet/wcms/publishing.nsf/Content/pcd-programs-epc-chronicdisease.)

pdf is a popular open format but there are no free converters that work
on this document. pdftops complains about the file being damaged and
pdftohtml does not render.

Suggestions welcome.

*Chronic Disease Management Audit*

In the first half of 2007 Medicare Australia will be conducting an
Australia-wide audit of general practice Chronic Disease Management
(CDM) care planning.

GPs can use the CDM items checklist to assess how well their CDM plans
measure up to MBS requirements. The checklist is available at
www.health.gov.au, follow the A-Z index to C for Chronic Disease
Management Medicare Items. The intention of this checklist is to provide
easy-to-use general guidance on the formal MBS requirements which GPs
must meet when using the CDM items. More detailed information regarding
the use of the CDM items can also be found on the same web page.

Medicare Australia will write separately to GPs involved in the CDM care
planning audit closer to the audit period.

In addition, the Department of Health and Ageing intends to undertake a
post-implementation review (PIR) of the CDM items during the first half
of 2007, for completion around mid-year.
