I still like the look of those fwbuilder GUIs but shorewall got me there. (BTW There seems to be some bug in pppoeconf on etch but if you preup the internet nic it works.) However, I have struck a new problem. My box won't come back up at a reboot. It terminates all processes and hangs at:- Rebooting now. . It does the same thing on some live knoppix distros so I think it's a bios problem. Unfortuantely, I cannot see anything there to solve the problem. "Ignore all errors" doesn't help since it never gets to the boot phase. Not automatically rebooting is a bit of a pain for a firewall. :-(( David
