Dr Molly Cheah, the President of the Primary Care Doctors Organisation of Malaysia (PCDOM, see http://www.pcdom.org.my/ ) will be visiting Sydney from 19th to 29th Oct 2006 and is interesting in meeting with local GPs to discuss general practice issues in general, but also general practice informatics issues in particular. Molly organised PCDOM to self-fund the development of an open-source-based GP information system and to establish an associated non-profit technical support business, which has rolled out and supports the system in many practices across Malaysia. As I have mentioned on this list previously, there is a lot we could collectively learn from her.
If you interested in meeting Molly, please email her at [EMAIL PROTECTED] - at this stage I have tentatively arranged to meet with her on the morning of Fri 20th Oct but I am available to drive her to a meeting anywhere in Sydney or environs that same afternoon, or potentially on the weekend of 21-22 Oct or the following week (schedule permitting). Some sort of video conference or teleconference while she is in Oz might also be possible (bandwidth might be better than from Malaysia, I suspect), if people are interested. She is also keen to discuss plans for workshops and sessions on primary care informatics and open source informatics at MedInfo 2007, to be held in Brisbane, um, in 2007.
