I watched a couple responses to this proposal from Liz and I'm not sure that
we are the best group suited to solve it. The project on the surface looks too
small for a student project. Secondly it needs a much richer specification.
Thirdly we are out of the cycle of student allocations to projects - that
occurs in February and July. We do set up Summer research projects in October,
but that is for our advanced students and carries cost of $5,000 for a
scholarship.

After visiting 7 practices in PoCT-GP trial (point of care testing - genera

practice) there is a need for a small project
a stand alone program to insert the poct data into the incoming path stream
,
from where an EHR's standard importer will import it
needs to be seen as a simple data entry form
name / dob
date / time
at present INR, HbA1c, TC, HDL, TGs and ACR
they need to be converted into HL7
and dumped into the path import directory.
obviously persons here will suggest improvements
and expand on the idea
i would expect something which is OS agnostic
