Joomla or Drupal?

(I'm thinking Joomla despite Drupal being in the debian repository.)

I'd see this as a massive advantage for Drupal, which I am using currently and like a lot, particularly if you want a news style site.

Let's face it - there are a lot of potential holes when you put this much PHP code together, and having the Debian community working out the patching for you means upgrades will be much less painful.

We're doing the Drupal for a practice and dumbing it down so it's just a series of editable pages. This is fine once you work out the quirks but it's really designed to handle the layout of content for you - if I allow them to add new content it will just plop on the front page then will need to be massaged into place manually.

Does this make sense? You'll see what I mean quickly once you install. Modules are very good generally. You need to add a WYSIWYG editor if you want one, and will have trouble with easy image uploading.

Peter.
