I cant see that anyone will be able to make money out of what is
essentially a secure E mail client - there are a million possible
alternatives. Who stands to gain from the use of Argus? Probably Govt
most - they should consider paying what they should have paid at the
start for the IP and make it open to everyone. I cant any possible
reason for them not to make the software freely available to all - is it
because neither party has the right to do so without the other's agreement?
Path and radiology providers have a commercial interest in providing
good service to their customers - as a GP they all seem pretty good to
me. I dont particularly care how the result is delivered - I am happy
with paper if there is no other alternative . In fact (just quietly) I
find paper more efficient as far as my time is concerned as we still
have hybrid paper/electronic records. Of course it is much more labour
intensive as far as front desk staff are concerned but then I am not
paying for that :) Having used MD2 in a completely electronic practice I
found the result handling quite onerous (admittedly checking other
people's results).
The bottom line is that I am personally happy with the status quo and
would not be keen to pay any significant amount for E mail support

I (and I suspect Horst) would like an *unsupported* no-registration version,
and would be willing to pay you by the hour if (for some reason) we needed
help getting it to work. IMHO you should target this version to Linux with no
graphical installer, this will stop the "Where's the Any Key?" brigade from
downloading it and then throwing a tantrum when they don't get their free
support on a silver platter.
Yes this means your userbase becomes slightly larger than your client
database, by about 4 users. You add add our names and e-mails from the
archives of this list, if you like ;-)

But an Argus version which doesn't require any
registration code allows pathology and radiology
companies to use Argus free, and denies Argus
their proposed source of revenue.
