My experience with having multiple messaging clients is ::::
that you don't know when one of them is down, maybe for days, maybe for weeks.
"How long has it been since we had a report from XXX radiology?" is a common
question. Then I have to check the server (where they insist on being
installed) to try to work which client radiology XX uses, whether it is
running, how it can be started or stopped and when it last downloaded a
result. Then, if I haven't got it running, I have to ring the support for the
downloader (usually the path/radiol co) and ask them. Then I have to wait for
sentient advice and, all going well, they tell me how to fix it or what day
they can come and fix it.
An hour of this and the waiting room looks like modern-day Iraq.
