Assume you create and SSH tunnel then pipe Remote Desktop Connection through
it?  

The Terminal app is installed with MacOS X by default.

/Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app

One you have this open, depending on how you actually access your programs,
the procedure inside Terminal should be the same as Putty.
