We've been told that Argus Connect cannot be installed unless we

correct and why is it correct? Greg M.
As John Mac says, Argus really has nothing to do with Pracsoft, except
for one detail, that I will explain below. What your informant probably
was trying to tell you is that if you are using Pracsoft and want to use
Medicare Online Claiming, you will have to have at least version 3.0,
and you want to allow patients to claim for non bulk billed services you
will need at least version 3.1, as explained at:
http://www.hcn.com.au/products/pracsoft/medicare_online.asp
"Pracsoft 3.0 and later versions allow secure transmission of Medicare
bulk bill claims, DVA claims and ACIR immunisation data, as well as
real-time verification of patient Medicare details.
PracSoft 3.1 and later versions also allow transmission of Medicare
claims to HIC on behalf of your privately billed patients."
The only possible link between Argus and Pracsoft is that the digital
certificate that your practice would use for Medicare Online Claiming
can be used by Argus. (People sending you messages via Argus use the
public key of that digital certificate to encrypt the messages to you).
However, Argus can use any location key issued to your practice by HeSA.
ArgusConnect now has a supply of ready made location certificates
from HeSA which they can install without your practice having to apply
to HeSA for a key. ArgusConnect just tells HeSA which practice they
have given which certificate. This simplifies and speeds up the process
of installing Argus.
Oliver,
The other point is that getting a HeSa location key is separate from
applying for Online claiming.
We are a Division and use our location key with our Cardiab_Argus pilot.
The practice sending to us got a location key, but was still using
Medclaims, incidentally via CompuDoc, not Pracsoft.
So the getting the key and using Online claiming are quite separate.
