Cool someone else mentioned it before me :)

I have been in communication with Ian Trefall at stathealth thru a few
clients.
Word is they plan to launch late this year.
Most of the old core MSS team.
Building it on Microsoft. Net. So yes probably MS SQL based.
Supposed to be very thin, web like.
Seamless conversion from PractiX/MSS expected ala BPsoftware.

Interestingly pressure from the old IBA customer base has forced stathealth
to offer a premium support service to
Practix and MSS Classic sites. Kind of weird really.

Hope they are quick enough as the responses from IBA's Bangalore support
desk is pretty slack (like HCN used to be) and if they aren't quick enough
most of the 900 or so sites running PractiX/MSS will jump ship.

Development appears to have stopped on PractiX so another half decent
Clinical app goes down the tube thanks to a corporate buyout.
Pity as I always had a soft spot for MSS Classic as it virtually never
crashed, except that time when the support manager backed out of a remote
upgrade and broke it and then refused to send someone 40 mins drive to fix
it so the clinic was down for half a day. Thanks for nothing Kelvin.

Sorry just had to get that of my chest :)

Part 1:
Looks similar to the usual story of GP computing - a doctor meets a computer
programmer - they decide there is a better way.

Part 2:
(a gp)/(a medical software entrepreneur) sell out to a larger corporation.
Time passes. They become unhappy and start out all over again.
