James, we take support issues seriously, following is a response from
our helpdesk manager. I trust that progress will be made on Friday
during the call you have scheduled. In the meantime, I suggest you
continue to request paper reports until you can be sure that the message
acknowledgement loop is properly closed.

Indeed, it seems that your EMR is currently not sending messages in the
correct format and will need to have some minor config changes made.
Until we can see what they are generating we will have to be content to
speculate on that.

Regards,

Tom

Hi Tom, I have done an investigation on Austin Hospital Radiology (AHR)
and Longevity Medical.

We were alerted by AHR that Longevity Medical was not ACKing messages.
Without ACKs, AHR has no idea whether or not the messages are going
through to the practice. They asked us to make contact and get the
acknowledgments working. We followed protocol and contacted James at
Longevity in the hopes to get the full end to end messaging working
properly.

We have determined the problem is the format of the messages that
MedTech is creating. They are not parsing the message specification, so
the HMS client is rejecting the messages. We are scheduled to call
James on Friday when we will retrieve a copy of the rejected messages.
This will enable us to test the message and identify what part of the
message is formatted incorrectly.

If you or James have any questions, just give me a call.

Cheers,

Brad Smith

Nice thoughts Tom

I am surprised to see your position as Healthlink support who very
kindly called for ACKs not sent to Austin radiology. Want seems to
conflict with your position "

> 1. Typically such systems do not provide a full end to end
acknowledgement loop as they rely upon the intermediate (messaging
system) software to acknowledge the incoming messages - This means that
such systems are absolutely not HL7 compliant.

HealthLink support seems to be blaming my medical software for not
sending ACKs? Is Health link HL7 compliant?
