Tom/Andrew,

I shall clarify the issue on behalf of AHML, there is no need to wait
for Chris.

For the record Healthlink does NOT have AHML accreditation.

You are correct in saying that you do not create messages, and as an
accreditation body with our own accreditation with NATA we are currently
only able to certify message producing systems to the fact that a
certain product and version is conformant to a specified Standard.

for example our current (and only certification):

Product and Version: Medical Objects Secure HL7, Application Framework,
v2.12.3
Standard: AS4700.2 2004, v2.3.1, Pathology Orders and Results

Yes, we have had discussions with Healthlink and have reviewed their
specifications, for which we provided comments on changes which would
need to be made before we could say that their 'specifications are
inline with the Australian Standard', but that is all we are unable to
certify them.

We could go one step further and install their software and pass valid
and invalid messages through and check the responses, however we will
also need to discuss anything like this with NATA to see if this could
be a possible inclusion of our accreditation scope.

I do not want this post to become a discussion as I certainly do not
have time and I have not made any comment until now because I think that
there are much more important issues that people should be focussing
there time on.

This is the response we received from AHML Yesterday

"I will have to talk to Tom, because what he is stating is incorrect."
