This group has alerted me to the fact that there is a long-standing known fault of MD2 with huge potential privacy ramifications. It happened again to me this week.

If you cut or copy text from an email in Outlook Express into the progress notes in MD2, Medical Director has been inserting a copy of that email and the name of that email and that person's name into other patients' progress notes, which then cannot be deleted. It's not possible to edit or delete from there - not even a minute or two later. It is there for ever, not just if you have left it till the next day to try to fix it. It happens to every subsequent file, adding more names and progress notes until you quit, and they stay like that forever.

Does anyone know if it still occurs on MD3?

Why they never rectified it is a mystery. I have seen the fault discussed before but no sign that HCN have fixed it.

If there is no solution, we should at least warn other MD2 (and MD3?) users that this can and will occur when  part or all of an email from Outlook is pasted into MD2. I dream that one day my hospital will replace MD2, Outlook and CBIS with MHAGIC.

I wonder what my Medical Defence organisation would say about this!
