Yes, of course it is better and clearly more fair to GPs.

However, but I believe that the change was not the result of a different group
of parties (the Liberal-CP coaliton) coming into power, but rather the result
of our professional organisations pointing out that the unfairness of the old
structure was causing declining numbers of GPs being willing to visit aged care
facilities.

Based on my experience of the twenty nine years that I have been in practice, I
don't expect a better deal from any particular party being in power.  I believe
that changes in society, demographics, technology, workforce, the public's
expectations and the activities of our professional organisations have much
more to do getting the system changed for the better than whichever party or
parties happen to be in power at any time.
