The value of computers in general practice (or medicine more widely) is

I fully agree that this would be very valuable.

For individual patients this should look like . I should be able to say with 1 or 2 mouse clicks - what health issues have I
not done for my diabetic patient who is here for a health review?

I want my computer to tell me this without my even having to click on anything.

Response * HbA1c rising over past 12 months, allergy to metformin, current hypoglyceamic medication is not at max dose consider * No ophthalmologist/ optometrist inbound report or referral in file since 2004 * No on aspirin and no contraindication / allergy for aspirin in file

Yes, yes, yes - give me more, big boy!

For a practice owner this should look like * I have 500 persons in our files with diabetes type 2 * 50 have not attended for more than 4 yrs presumed no longer patients * 250 are seen regularly and have had annual diabetes assessment * 100 have declined to respond to 2 letters inviting attendance for diabetic review * 100 are overdue for their assessment and are being persued

Oh, I love it!
