Anyone have any practical experience here, especially using Flash, compressing GPFS metadata? IBM points out that they specifically DON’T support it on there devices (SVC/V9000/StoreWize)

They don’t mention anything about data, and since the default for GPFS is mixing data and metadata on the same LUNs you’re more than likely compressing the metadata as well. :-) Also, no statements that you must split metadata from data when using compression.
