Ah, good point. Support means different things to different people, I
suppose. The FAQ does say this which I'd not seen before:
"IBM Spectrum Scale is not supported on SLES 12 SP2"
That's actually a problem for me so I second Christoph's question, then.

but not supported, the docs actually said 7.1 or higher. We still got support
and IBM now officially support 7.3, but I can see people may not want to deploy
on something unsupported.

12 SP2 to be expected when?
Just to make sure I wasn't mis-remembering I just installed 4.1.1.10 on
a SLES12 SP1 machine (it has a SLES12 SP2 kernel though), built and
loaded the kernel modules. There could be something significantly
different in user space between SLES12 SP1 and SP2 that prevents RPM
installation but I'd be surprised.
