About this Webinar
IBM Spectrum Scale webinars are hosted by IBM Spectrum Scale support to
share expertise and knowledge of the Spectrum Scale product, as well as
product updates and best practices based on various use cases. This webinar
introduces various concepts and features related to disk lease, node expel,
and node recovery. It explains the mechanism of disk lease, the common
scenarios and causes for node expel, and different phases of node recovery.
It also explains DMS (Deadman Switch) timer which could trigger kernel
panic as a result of lease expiry and hang I/O. This webinar also talks
about best practice tuning, recent improvements to mitigate node expels and
RAS improvements for expel debug data collection. Recent critical defects
about node expel will also be discussed in this webinar.
