All,

I believe extended support for 4.2.3 will be available, but no PTFs or efixes are provided for a release after end-of-service.

> 2.  Is gpfs 5.0 unsupported for both rhel6 servers and clients?

5.0 is not supported on RHEL 6, for either NSD clients or servers.

Given RHEL6 expires in November anyway you would only be buying yourself
a couple of months which seems pointless. You need to be moving away
from both.
