It did (I think) but she's loath to do this since she has no idea what she's 
letting it do (ie it's basically asking to do something potentially as root but 
she has no idea what).  She's right about that IMO.

I'm sure she does since she'll want stuff like make.  It will be 3.<something> 
probably not current (in any case it won't be 4).

Yes, we'll try this.  As best I can make out doing an upgrade-everything thing 
will get the newest (3.x) Xcode as well, so that might help.
