The mail proxy used by PGP Desktop on Mac OS does NOT work with
exchange/exchange web services connections.  It only works with
pop3/imap.  Just something to consider.  Since it is a mail proxy, it
should work with any email client using pop3/imap.  The downside is that all
local copies of your mail (inbound and outbound) are not encrypted.  The mail
proxy decrypts inbound messages before delivering them to your mail client and
it encrypts outbound messages only after your client has passed the message off
to the proxy.  I prefer mine to always remain encrypted and be decrypted only
temporarily while I'm reading it.

I used to have PGP Desktop but dumped it once Lion came out (I used it
mainly for whole-disk encryption, everything else PGP related I did with GPG
because it is actually easier and better supported than the
commercial product!).

PGP Desktop is not worth the hassle.  See
http://www.symantec.com/connect/security/forums/pgp-wde-mac for many
reasons why.  Even if you don't use WDE, it can cause you many problems
if you update the OS without the proper support from Symantec because
boot-time drivers are installed automatically when you install PGP Desktop.
There is apparently only one update certified to work with Lion and you don't
get access to it
unless you contact tech support to have it manually added to your account on
their download server (as of about a week ago).
