Hi Sten,

GPGMail 2.0 which is currently in alpha status but should hit beta very soon
will allow S/MIME and OpenPGP to co-exist.
The 2.0 version will first be released for Lion only, but we'll start working 
on a backport to
Snow Leopard soon after.
