These will have written files called summary.txt and config.txt in this
directory, can you look / email their content.

This is SDRAM capture, you need to use "gphoto2 --capture-image-and-download" 
to get it
downloaded immediately.

Hmm, have not heard about this ... a debug trace might be helpful.

        gphoto2 --capture-image-and-download --debug --debug-logfile=capture.log

will try and write the debug logfile into capture.log.
