Sorry for not replying sooner. It seems only some wiggling might be needed to enable the Sony 7R4 :/ I have a github issue which reports success when using "entangle", but not the commandline: https://github.com/gphoto/gphoto2/issues/272 So far I could however not spot a pattern what causes the fragility.
